The First Thing To Try When Changes Don't Show Up
It can be maddening when you make a change to your Weebly, publish it and then don't see it reflected in your portfolio. ARRRRGH!!!
The first thing to try is forcing the page to reload. Then, either view your portfolio in a different browser or flush your cache.
Not quite following me? Here's the explanation. When you go to a web site your web browser downloads that page into its "browser cache" which is a special folder made by your browser to temporarily hold a copy of that page. This is very useful when, for instance, you follow a link on that page and then click the Back button. Rather than your browser going back to the original web site and downloading everything again, a true waste of bandwidth and time, it first looks in the cache to see if it already has that page and if it finds it, it reloads the copy on your machine. You see the problem? Once the browser has visited your published site it may not go back to Weebly to get the new version or maybe it goes to Weebly and gets only some of your changes. This can be maddening when editing your site but in most other situations it is very useful.
So, as it says above, the first thing to try is a forced reload of your published Weebly. Forced? Yes, because just like pressing the Back button, clicking on the reload/refresh button simply reloads the page copy from the cache. To force it to reload a new copy, hold down the CTRL key (CMD on a Mac) and then click the reload/refresh button. If that does not work, try opening the page with a different browser because it will not have a cached version (most likely any way, depending on settings, cached pages may expire when you close a browser or persist for days, months, even years but most are not set up that way). Failing that, flush your cache.
To flush your browser's cache Google your browser's name and "flush cache" and you'll see directions. If I get the chance I might create a screencast here.
